The e-diabetes certificate program is a training tool for frontline healthcare professionals. It should ultimately benefit African patients living in southern countries, or having migrated to northern countries. It is the result of a collaboration between "diabetologists from the South and the North". Access to the course is by registration and a certificate of participation is provided.
The teaching content is structured in modules.

- The system works in low bandwidth and can be followed on computer or mobile
- The self-assessment quizzes are to be taken online, but to overcome internet access difficulties, each course can be downloaded to a computer to be studied offline.
